Welcome to All Drama All of the Time! Empty
PostSubject: Welcome to All Drama All of the Time!   Welcome to All Drama All of the Time! EmptySat Mar 08, 2008 8:57 pm

I started this board because I was getting a little frustrated by all of the rules imposed upon posters over at ehealth and other forums. Supposedly one of the reasons for the rules it to cut down on the so-called "drama" that sometimes occurs in threads. Well you know what? I LOVE THE DRAMA!!! cheers That is the fun part if any board. Otherwise, a forum can get kind of dull. Sleep

So, post away, and throw caution to the wind (within reason, of course, we don't want to get this board censored or shut down, lol!) Very Happy

PostSubject: Doctors appointment update!   Welcome to All Drama All of the Time! EmptyTue Mar 11, 2008 9:21 pm

So i now weigh 132lbs, height the same...still 5'3 a little shrimp! lol
I heard my baby's heart beat again!! I love you
I feel so happy and warm inside when i hear my little one's heart beat!

My doctor is setting out to look for an OB for us, through doctors from other hospitals via e-mail or something like that.
The baby's heart beat is 166beats which is good, and he said things look like their doing good.
And i get my ultrasound on the 25th and another appointment on April 1st.

Sounds like you are having a good time with your pregnancy. I remember hearing my daughter's heartbeat put me in the same kind of mood. There is something magical about that heartbeat when you've chosen to carry. A wanted child of choice.

I have 2 different doctors that communicate with emails. I don't know why this is so shocking. My primary care doctor found my child's pediatrician for us before my DD was even born.

Umm do you know every doctor? Nope didn't think so. So how can you say no doctor does this. One of my kids sees several specialists and they all communicate with each other for appropriate care for him. They also email other doctors for you know referrals. But maybe thats unheard of in Canada?

Hello, welcome to the age of information! In this modern technological society people often communicate via computer in a datapackage called 'email' it is a highly efficient way to share information over distances great and small and it is very eco friendly, letters do not get lost and in the case of two medical professionals sharing expertise and skills for the benefit of a patient it will allow the best treatment plan to be developed.

Get a grip you nitwit. Why wouldn't they use email? Honestly, the middle ages called they want their witch hunting stupidity back.

Doctors don't usually use email because of confidentiality and reimbursement.

Fulcrum Analytics and Deloitte Research. Taking technology's temperature: physicians still cool toward e-mail. In: Fulcrum Analytics and Deloitte Research. Taking the pulse v 2.0: physicians and emerging technologies. New York, NY: Fulcrum Analytics; Jan 2002.

Ann Coulter called, Jincks. She wants her manners back. Oh, and I got a text from your high school principal, too. They want their diploma back.

So you are claiming an email could not possibly happen based on one study. one. Just one. From 2002 which is 6 years ago you moron. Learn to count. Better yet why don't you actually ask the offices of the doctor involved? email and cell phone technology has vastly improved over time to the point one can assure uninterupted usage which no one but the intended recipient is able to open the email or the message.

Btw.. the Center for Cognitive Function called..... your brian is ready!! Good luck with your new experience. Thinking must be a first for you.

all i can say is wow.
it may be unheard of, but it does happen, and yeah confidentiality, but this is looking for an OB not some serious medical condition. and like some other posters said we are living in the year 2008! Not every doctor is the same, they are more high tech nowadays, and instead of writing things in a folder have folders on the computer, i dont understand why this is hard to believe, but hey think what you want. I know the truth and i know what was actually said, because afterall i was the one present in this situation and listening and seeing everything my doctor was doing.
Emma2, if you have nothing better to do or say dont read what i write, im not here for your entertainment. and im not here to bi-ch like you are doing. I have never heard someone speak so rudely. This is called all drama all the time, but its not bi-ch 24/7 chat and forum.

Ha! Do you read? Who said that "an email could not possibly" have happened? I said it wasn't common, and supported that statement, which is more than you can say for yourself!

Again, for those of us with problems in our "brian" cheers synapses doctors do not typically use email for communication due to privacy and reimbursement issues.

Goddang, how funny is it that you chide me for "conversations with dead people" and in the same post yak about how you've gotten a call from the Center for Cognitive Functioning! All that irony just cured anemia.

Jincks, it seems like you're just on here to vent some steam. That's fine; I'd actually have to respect you if it was going to bother me. It'd just be a whole lot better if you were a tad more creative. Sleep

not realizing that what some people say isnt going to be exactaly what they want to hear,
but what emma said was shere rudeness.
But im not here to judge anyone, just opintion out a fact and opinion.

I personally would not want to have my doctor being so informal with my medical information, etc, through email. It is too easy to hack these days and if it happens you personal information is out there for the world to see. Most offices use fax and phone calls. It is easier and faster in most cases.

I don't think personal medical info was being sent across the internet, just a doctor asking another doctor if he could take one his patients on as a new patient. In HMO's, referrals are needed to see doctors other than the primary, in many cases.

When someone calls you rude, it is THEIR opinion. You are not the only person intitled to an OPINION. although it is fairly obvious to anyone who reads what write that you think you are the only person who can have an opinion.

You should take advantage of spell check or go to some highschool English classes. Your grammar and spelling are horrid. That isn't opinion. It is fact.

This might not be what you want to hear. Thats ok. It is an OPINION. Deal with it.

As I said, I would personally not want to wait on an email from another office. It would be faster and easier to use a phone or fax. Working in a medical office (albeit an animal one) fax and phone calls are much faster for referrals. We NEVER use email to communicate with other offices and we only deal with animals, not humans with more important issues as well as rights to privacy.

Either you can provide proof or you are, as usual, blowing air out your ass. You cited a six year old study as your one and only source of 'information'. I see the concept of modernization and up to date information has bypassed you.
You based a judgement on one study and a projection your personal opinion as if it were some kind of holy text you wanted to force on everyone.

lol!

Let's revisit my original post.

Me wrote:

I then backed up my assertation with the most recent study I could find.

Of everyone on this thread, I am the only one who used a resource to back up my assertations.

And I didn't even post my personal opinion. sunny

No dunce. Your assertion is not able to actually be backed up with any study. YOu asserted that NO doctor would ever communicate with another doctor via email about a patient. I want you to prove your generalization with your intimate knowleged of all doctors and all medical practices everywhere.

just to CLEAR THINGS UP.
My doctor showed us a list of OB's, named a few that are OB's at a hospital close by our house, and we picked one.
He then sent out a referal to that doctor BY EMAIL, and said we would recieve a call if we were accepted.
