Yet another trend kids have gotten into.
Pharm Parties (pharmaceutical parties)
Where young teens rade the medicine cabinet for any prescription drugs that their parents may be using, and bring them to a party, where other teens who have brought their prescription drugs from home and pour them all into a big bowl, and try different pills that have been brought. Some give a numbing effect, anxiety, dizzyness, or can end up being fatal where the teen has to be rushed to emergency.
The most commonly brought prescription drug is Oxycotin. A very addictive drug and can leave a person with different side effects. These parties are becoming more and more common for teens to go to, where anything and everything can happen. Hospital rooms are beginning to see more and more teens coming in with overdose's on bizarre and potentially lethal combinations of pills.
Yet even with all this happening, teens are still using these prescription drugs at the cost of their lives. Not knowing what any pill can do, and mixing them with other combinations of pills just to get a high. Its pretty sad that this is the type of recreational activities a hand full of kids are into these days. Yet its a new fad, that kids are into, and its only a matter of time until one overdoses again. Or until someone knocks some sense into their heads.
I think parents need to educate their kids alittle more on drugs and what the purpose of prescription drugs are for, because they think its just a fun activity or party favour.
This is just another fine example that kids should be involved in some type of activity to get their mind motivated and away from the troubled kids who, lets face it, influence the others to go down the same road as they are.
I was blown away when i heard this, but does not surprise me, because of how young kids today are getting into drugs.
