why do you have to be married to have a child?
people can be in committed relationships and have children without a ring on their finger.
there is such a thing as common-law marriages, no marriage or proposal was ever made but they are in the eyes of society a married couple. Just not legally married.
Marriage these days, [no offense] is like flowers. Its new and fresh and exciting for a while, then wilt away, something goes wrong, and nowadays, most couples do not stay together to fix things, they just get the divorce papers to end things quickly.
So..why did you go through all that trouble to get married?
There's no law that says you must be married before having children!
Some don't feel that marriage is an important thing to do before having children,
their together, they love each other, care for one another, and decide to have a child.
Maybe instead of that money that would go to a wedding, their putting it towards their child, which is a symbol of their love and in a way, makes them a married happy family.
